Step 3: The Monthly Report
- Using the initial assessment as a guide, each child’s behaviours are observed and recorded on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Every month a bar chart of these recordings is forwarded to the Home Manager for consideration.
- Following analysis of the data, a report is presented highlighting changes and trends. Every 3 months, following a discussion the IRP will be updated. Every 6 months the information will be forwarded to the LAC Review again before updating the IRP.
- The monthly report registers behavioural changes within the safe and contained environment of the residential setting. It offers feedback on tangible objective indicators as to the progress or regression of the child.
- It is not able to assess the internalisation of these changes by the child and as such should be used only in conjunction with the Assessment in order to obtain a balanced view of each child’s recovery.
